@baunch Wow, I have been hanging around here for 7 years now, and every day I learn something new! As a life-long gardener who has often grown roses, it seems I should have heard of this before today.
Here is what the CDC has to say about Sprortrichosis:
https://www.cdc.gov/sporotrichosis/hcp/clinical-overview/index.html
As with most fungal infections, it may take several months and trial of a few different medications to get the right treatment.
Can you tell me where it has appeared on your body?

Left arm from elbow to wrist.
I have been dealing with this for over a year. Eight cultures, all negative for fungal and bacterial microorganisms) are now being sent to CDC. I also have areas of the nodules diagnosed as Granulomatous
Dermatitis w Necrosis. ANA and
ANCA tests are negative.

1 Reaction@sueinmn 5 Dermatologists 6 biopsy’s and two years of sores and pain on arms, legs, face after falling in rose shrubs. Diagnosed with Pickers disease, “all in my head”. Finally went to a G P and he said “do you know what you have” I said “Yes Sporotrichosis” he said yes! Rx Itraconazole, 8 months and all is 90 % better.

@maggiegd
Maggie, thank you for your follow up.
None of my tests,
cultures or series of antibiotics (including months on Itraconazole) has brought a true diagnosis or healing. My wound puncture was not from a rose stem but dead branch. I also work in soil so that may add to the
problem/s
I inc the pics in case my arm looks familiar to any involved w Mayo Clinic
@baunch Yes, the pattern is very familiar. I started getting spots and nodules about 2-3 weeks after my fall into the bushes. Felt like ants biting under the skin, they then ulcerated and produced hard nodules and black hard filaments that came to the top and the skin turned pinkish purple. They traveled up my arms and spread to my face, ear canals and fingers. The scars from those that heal are also purple. All are in complete circles. It has taken 7 months of Itraconazole and topical Ketoconazole to see a difference, but it has changed for the better. I found that warm salt water soaks and Neosporin pain cream helps. I pray you can get this resolved.
