Right Kidney Removal
I have been followed for renal masses on both kidneys.
Also followed for back/nerve pain.
I was experiencing severe back/flank pain.
Went to an urgent care and was elevated to ER.
Long and short, not my back but CT result confirmed and will be proceeding to have my right kidney removed.
Question is, I was under the understanding that kidneys don't cause pain, hence I thought it was my back?

When is your surgery scheduled? Are you prepared for the possible outcomes of the surgery, and have a care team in place? How are you feeling emotionally about all of this?

I had to go to urgent care for severe pain this Tuesday.
Right kidney additional growth confirmed and r kidney at minimum will be partially removed. Will try and save some due to same issue on left, which is currently stable.
Also confirmed l4 and l5 spine narrowed and disc bulge, cause of pain. Spine specialist will be seen this Monday and kidney surgery January 10.
Took a trip to urgent care with uncontrolled pain to finally get results.
Pain is currently better with meds final received.
Horrible experience in order to get here.

Success is possible. I had renal cell carsonoma removed from my left kidney on 10/25. Post op report this week was very good. All cancer is gone and both kidneys are functioning normally. No gym or heavy lifting for another 6 weeks. I hope your surgery goes well?
Have you had biopsies on both kidneys to determine if cancer?
I have not, this recent growth spurt is fairly indicative.
