Right foot tickling that comes and goes

Posted by julesalt @julesalt, Mar 8 2:25pm

I am a type 2 diabetic and last night in bed my right foot started tickling in the bottom of my foot in the ball area. It comes and goes and if I rub it a lot it goes away for 15-20 seconds. I am desperate, and wondered if anyone knows if there is medication to help with this, or foot soaks? Thanks

If it is only in the one foot (not bilateral) there is a possibility it is due to lumbar disc bulging or herniation. You might have that possibility checked out.

Thank you so much. I have an MRI scheduled for the 3rd of April for my back.

When you say tickling…could it be interpreted as twitching! I used to have a place that felt like a blood vessel pulsating. Nerve like, Not painful, but slight and invisible, underneath the skin.

No it was a deep itch in my foot. The only thing that would make it stop was me rubbing and pressing my thumb on the spot forcefully. It would let up for awhile and then come back. I was using a ben gay patch on my back followed by a 5% lidocaine patch. I am wondering if that could have had something to do with it happening. I have not had any more episodes. Thanks for your response.
