Anybody tried riding a bike although you have balance issues when standing/walking? (eg does balance problem translate to biking?)

I have a trike E-bike (very bad balance) and it has made a world of difference for me. It feels so good to be able to move out in the air again and get some exercise. I mainly use pedal assist so I keep my legs moving constantly.

Do you have a safe place to ride from your home? Do you have something for your car to transport it to a paved trail? I live where the sidewalks are broken pavement and the street is narrow and has regular traffic. Biking sounds wonderful!

Great! I can see your smile when you pedal and feel the fresh air breeze on your face. Stay safe and pedal like mad!

I have balance problems and weak right leg. Thought for sure I'd have to quit biking, as I can't afford a three wheeler or electric bike. Then a friend suggested training wheels on the rear wheel! (They do make them large enough for an adult bike - and much less expensive than 3 wheeler, electric bike, etc). I gave it a try and wow! I am on the road again! I can stop and dismount without tipping over, which was an issue earlier. I can get back on without someone holding the bike for me. I did find I feel even safter using the women's style bike (without crossbar).

I am very lucky. I can take off right from my garage on well maintained roads. Many quiet neighborhoods within our complex here in Fl. It is so great to be able bike ride with my husband again. There are also miles and miles of trails.

My balance is as bad on a bike as it is when I walk so I gave it away.
