Rezdiffra: Taken this med? Side effects?

I have been on Rezdiffra for three months now. My only regret is that I wasn’t put on it earlier.

I had a fibrosis scan 18 months ago and it was inconclusive. My gastroenterologist decided to follow up in one year. When I finally had a biopsy they found out that I had stage 3 fibrosis. They started me on Rezdiffra right away.

I am doing great on the Rezdiffra. My AST is 10 and my ALT is 27. They have not been that low in years. I haven’t had a lot of side effects.
I did have some itching at first. Plus my fatigue has gotten worse but they may be from the fatty liver or my fibromyalgia.
The pain that I was having under my right breast from the liver inflammation has almost completely gone away.

I have also started Zepbound and have lost 27 lbs. I read that Rezdiffra and the combination of a GLP-1 may be the best treatment for fatty liver.

I believe these two medications are going to save my life. I am very happy to be fortunate to be able to afford them but I may have to give up the Zepbound. It’s very expensive.

I started taking rezdiffra 2 and half weeks ago. Diarrhea happens after eating ice cream, popcorn at movies with the butter. Otherwise no other side effects. My Labs have been normal for several years. Have not had them done since starting the medication.

I finally got a second opinion with a much better doctor who said I likely have cirrhosis so should NOT take Rezdiffra until finding out more (my current doctor went back and forth, pushing it and after saying I likely had cirrhosis I did so should take the Rezdiffra or I would have it.) The new doctor ordered a Fibroscan and other tests the first one never did. I'm upset that I've wasted almost a year with the incompetent doctor.

I have taken it for about 4 months, no side effects at all, expensive drug but if you get savings card its free

After waiting 8 months to see a "specialist" for my fatty liver, and then more months as he contradicted himself, saying I didn't have cirrhosis, I did, didn't, as he pushed Rezdiffra, I finally got a second opinion. That referral took 3 days and the doctor is so kind and caring, did tests no one else had done, said my iron is very low, and that he thinks I do have cirrhosis so should NOT take Rezdiffra. He's ordered a Fibroscan for me to find out more. I have stomach aches so he's wanting me also to have another colonoscopy and endoscopy, which Id been reluctant to do but think I should now.

@orb25 Thanks. My concern is that we should never take Rezdiffra if we actually have cirrhosis and my new doctor thinks that's what I have. The previous doctor did not test me adequately and I'm thinking is hoping for kickbacks by the manufacturer.

I’m about to go on it. Only real way to determine cirrhosis is a liver biopsy. I had one when I was diagnosed 4 years ago and one last week. My cirrhosis has regressed and now just level
2-3 fatty liver with scaring.

Just here to see what others say about resdiffra, they manufacture site it doesn’t seem it’s very helpful but in maybe 12 percent?
