Reverse shoulder replace on petite woman

Posted by joannee @joannee, 5 days ago

Hi! I had a Reverse shoulder replacement (RSR) on my dominant arm (right) on 9/28/23. To this day I am still going to PT and although ROM has improved, I still have pain with every day movements. I’ve tried nerve block, trigger point injections, acupuncture, and cortisone injections. I still feel tight and in pain although everything is healed. Surgeon thinks it could be that I have little muscle and because I am petite. Is there anyone out there that has had this problem??
Thanks for listening!!

This type of surgery requires a long recovery time and I’ve heard up to or more than a year, which you’ve surpassed. I suggest keep on going to PT as long as you’re able insurance coverage wise and health wise. Your doctor I presume has performed a bunch of these, listen to them.

Thank you for your response! I was hoping that there was another person in this situation. I am going yo pain management snd continuing therapy. I’ve had previous rotator repairs with no issue whatsoever. I’m just feeling frustrated at the moment!! Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
