Referral recommendation Urologist at Mayo, Scottsdale, AZ

Posted by dilbert1955 @dilbert1955, Sep 21 6:50pm

I listed my story in a previous post. I am not able to tolerate BCG after 9 instillations. Currently NED. My urologist has encouraged me to seek out the Scottsdale Mayo Clinic for another set of eyes. I have High grade NIMBC. Have only had one tumor since diagnosis and since removed. Last instillation was 3/17/2026. I am just now recovering from the intense pelvic pain. I would like to use Mayo for my next cystoscopy and further treatments if needed. Can anyone recommend one or several urologists specializing in this type of cancer?
I appreciate any thoughts

Scott Cheney MD and Kathy Morgan PA This is who I see once a year for annual check up but there are many qualified urologic professionals at Mayo PHX...going on 12 years!

@dilbert1955, if you haven't already, you can submit a request for a second opinion here https://mayocl.in/1mtmR63
Or did you oncologist submit a physician referral on your behalf?

Thank you, I used that link today and started the ball rolling. Waiting now for a reply on next steps for an appointment. I am guessing my first appointment will be a tele visit before an actual in personal visit to the clinic in Arizona as I currently live in Hawaii. thanks for your suggestions.

As it turns out Mayo does not accept Medicare Advantage plans. This now creates another issue to deal with
