Redundant Colon: What helps avoid surgery?

Redundant Colon resulting in twist in sigmoid
I had an emergency sigmoidoscopy in October 2021 and further tests indicated a redundant colon. My consultant wanted me to get a bowel resection. To date I've avoided this and am trying to manage my diet. I am also on daily Laxido (a type of laxative that takes water into the bowel). I drink a lot of water and am very fit. I am trying to manage the problems of the redundant colon in order to avoid another incident. My diet is one option but some people have suggested acupuncture and I'm very interested in any feed back on this. I am also interested in know if a colonic irrigation would be safe and could help - my thoughts being it may clear out any old build up. Any help would be welcomed. I am a 58 year old healthy female weighing 65 kilos.

Thx fir including me but I have not been diagnosed with that. They don’t know what I have but I get up in the night anytime or morning with a pain very low in my stomach. I massage and walk around and hopefully pass gas and eventually have a bowel movement. When I do the pain goes away and returns the next night while sleeping in the morning. This has been going on for at least 3 years. Anybody have this. I think it is around the pain is around the caecum. Any ideas I would be glad to hear them! Thx

I went for a colonoscopy and CT Scan and the surgeon diagnosed me with a redundant colon. According to him, it's not removed surgically anymore as this surgery is not successful. I experience a lot of fatigue and sometimes get very sick. I'm on various constipation meds at the moment and I realize that I need to find a way to live with this condition.
The surgeon has done more than 38 000 colonoscopies and knows the colon very well.
I've recently started to take L-Glycinate and B1 and can confirm that it's helpful for this condition.

I’m unable to find L-Glycinate. Are you referring to magnesium glycinate? If so, how much do you take?

I had a colonoscopy a week ago after months of diarrhea, then constant nausea and some vomiting, was told I have a torturous or redundant colon. My follow up isn’t until end of April and wondering if anyone else deals with this. I see people are taking magnesium glycinate but thinking that’s for constipation. Any advice?

After decades of excruciating pain, and many colonoscopies and upper and lower scopes, I was finally told by my latest gastroenterologist that I have a redundant colon.
Never heard of it. Neither had my cardiologist.
Looking forward to any help or discussion
