Just logged onto this site and joined. I just underwent surgery for rectal prolapse 2 weeks ago. I am hoping to find others that have had this surgery and see how things went post-op and suggestions others may have. Since your post is from August, did you happen to have surgery for your prolapse?

Hi Kamie. At the time of my post, I diagnosed myself with likely rectal prolapse. Turned out it was a large polyp at my anus. Snip snip. I'm cured. But I hope your recovery goes well.

I've had constipation issues since childhood and now I have rectal prolapse that needs to be treated. I noted two surgeries: Perineal proctectomy and Sigmoid resection and rectopexy. I am interested in learning more about each of the surgeries and which one is the simpliest and easiest for the patient.
