Before I had the IV infusion reclast I was 2.4 after the infusion mine went to 4.4 severe osteoporosis. Why would that happen?

I had a reaction with the first infusion. It was flu like symptoms but they passed pretty quick, about 6 hours. The second infusion, I didn’t have any reaction. Those are the only two I’ve had so far. My bone scan showed improvement so I was given a break. I’m having blood work done in May with bone markers, hopefully I’m still on break.

Thanks so very much. What would be the indicator that would cause the doctor to stop the break and put you back on Reclast?

I am going to take Reclast as well, and would like to know about adverse reactions in your case, as well. Thanks.

My first infusion I had flu like symptoms. They passed in about 6 hours. I had no adverse reactions with my second infusion. After my second infusion, I had a DEXA scan about 7 months later, my numbers improved. Currently I am on a break from Reclast due to the improvement, and also my bone markers from bloodwork. I have more bloodwork scheduled for May. I’ll see what happens after that. Hope this helps.

From what I know, the bloodwork showing the bone markers will tell if I need to go back on Reclast sooner than later. I’m hoping I can have another 6 to 12 months off. We will see after the bloodwork in May.
