Random, painful, and moveable lump or ball in/on my jaw?
I am 15 y.o, and sometime last night I felt a random strong pain on the right side of my chin, and I was feeling around and felt a ball or lump that I can move around a bit in the area of my jaw. It's slightly uncomfortable to talk, chew, swallow, or bend my head back, and the pain whenever the ball get touched or moved out of place is very sharp and lasts for a little while. It seems to be easier to move when I am laying down but I am not sure. Also, i feel it when pushing against the inside of my chin, not the ouside. Does anyone know what this could be?

@bkats Please speak to your adult! There are many possible explanations - swollen lymph nodes (sometimes called swollen glands) that can be a sign your body is fighting and infection - that is the most likely. Or you may have an infection in the lymph gland itself (rare) or in your jaw or an ear infection or abcessed (infected) tooth.
If you have symptoms of a cold or other virus, and no high fever (102F or above) you can easily wait a few days to see if it goes away.
If not, you need to see your family doctor or an Urgent Care clinic as soon as possible to find the cause. If it gets worse or you get a high fever seek care right away.
