Anyone have a pyeloplasty for a blocked ureter?
Robotic surgery 8 years ago. Had an unrelated CT Pelvis recently and it was noted that I had a partial obstruction in a ureter. I'm scheduled now for a "Pyeloplasty" (using a temporary stent to do the work of the formerly blocked ureter) until the ureter can heal.
Doctor said this was more than likely caused by having to move nerves and other "things" (my terminology) in the area of the prostate and scar tissue developed to such an extent that "it" blocked the ureter.
Anyone else experienced this?

Not in the urology realm, but the GI…after RARP and all kinds of bowel issues, a colonoscopy revealed a ‘tortuous’ large intestine - medical speak for ‘twisty’.
Had to be from those evil metallic blades moving everything all over the damn place, intentionally or not.

3 Reactions@tico14, did you have the pyeloplasty to unblock the ureteropelvic junction (UPJ)? How are you doing?
Surgery went fine. Recovering at the present.

1 ReactionI'm on my 3rd set of stents in both Urerters. The lymph nodes near my Urerters is cancerous and has swollen to the point that the ureters are compressed to the point of stopping the flow of urine to my bladder. Each procedure has been done by my urologist in out patient with a mild sedative. Good luck
