My Dad has terrible burns on his back from radiation. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I also had radiation on my back. The last three days of treatment I asked the nurse if this is when she puts on the Barbeque sauce. It did take a while but it does heal. The big red shadow of the site still exists and probably always will, but there is no pain. I do, however, have back scratchers in every room of the house. But I can live with that. Good luck.

Aquaphor, didn't help me either, a Perscription Cream, my Oncologist took the edge off, wish I knew the name, it was last year. My burns was so bad he took me off of Radiation for a week, that helped alot
Best of Luck, 🤗

My oncologist supplied me with weekly lotion. I followed his instructions and I ended up with only one dime size burn that quickly diminished.
I witnessed a guy that didn’t use the lotion nearly enough and his neck was horrible! He was going through the same treatment as me so I know the lotion works!

Doctor prescribed thin layer of aloe, let it dry, followed by a thin layer of Aquaphor Healing ointment. I don’t rub the burn, just lightly pat it with the aloe and aquaphor. I repeat 3 or 4 times a day. I’ve been doing it now for 7 weeks and the skin looks really good!
I use the brand Fruit of the Earth for my aloe. It’s 100% aloe and I can get it from Amazon

Sore mouth and tongue after finishing radiation 3 weeks ago. 24 hours a day I feel a burning/numbness inside my mouth and especially on my tongue.
Today when I woke up my togue was covered in white.
Still feeding thru tube because everything is painful to put in my mouth.
Feels like a mouth full of chili peppers.

I hope you have contacted the doctor about the change. Yeast/fungus infections in the mouth look like a white coating and are quite irritating. Ask about a product they can mix up called magic mouthwash. It helped me a lot when rxed from University of Michigan radiation oncologist.

Silvadene is a burn cream I used to great effect and it greatly reduced the pain.

I’m almost burnt to a crisp from radiation ☢️ burns. I have found the best solution is Aloe straight from the garden. I cut off a piece, take a scissor to remove the spines and then cut it open and apply the “gel” directly onto my chest and breast and under arm. I have used the Silvadene, the $376.00 steroid ointment and cannabis salve. None of these seem to work as well as the Aloe. It’s very soothing and keeps the area from peeling. I have only 7 more treatments out of a 7 week protocol. You can purchase an aloe plant in most nurseries and Home Depot., etc.
