Radiation and Xeloda (capecitabine): What was your protocol?

Posted by niki28 @niki28, Mar 24 11:15am

I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. I will be undergoing 28 days of radiation (5 days a week) and 2600mg of xeloda each of those 28 days. Once complete I will undergo chemo (port) w folfox and then surgery. I’m concerned w the high dosage of xeloda as I am only 5”4” tall weighing 155…. Does this seem high to anyone else or am I just freaking out?

Hi! First week of 3000mg of xeloda and radiation plus I got my port installed. I don’t know if it’s mental or if it’s a side effect (already) but I’ve been soooo tired, other than that I still have 24 more treatments to go for phase 1 🫤

I am being confrontational and I do apologize but something has to be said here. While it is okay to google your treatment and ask questions; if you do not trust your professionals get a second opinion from professionals, not Copilot AI.

I did not suggest that Copilot AI be used as a second medical opinion for niki28 @niki28r as you have implied. My oncology hematologist has encouraged me to use the popular internet AI information tools to help question/backup/supplement his recommendations - I simply passed along this advice that I have found very useful.
