RA Pain and CBD oil

Posted by sexton97 @sexton97, Jan 7, 2019

I am very curious about this. I want to try CBD oil but I have to admit I am very nervous. I live in the STL, MO area so we do have stores that sell it but I am afraid. Can anyone shed some light on this? I do appreciate it.

I don’t have RA but I have fibromyalgia, very bad OA, and chronic pain for the last 30 years. No stranger to pain. I have been on pain meds for many years and my dr and friends had suggested I try CBDs. But I too didn’t know where to start because there is no research on how much, what kind, etc. I am in the medical field and like having something to back up the why. I finally took the leap with another doctor friend of mine. My advice: try tinctures (sublingual, under the tongue, drops). That way the dosage is much more exact and repeatable. I went with a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC because the THC actually potentiates the effects of the CBD. There are some tinctures with THCA which decreases even more the potential minimal “high” you feel. I use a 1:1 CBD:THC at bedtime to help me sleep and a 1:1 CBD:THCA during the day for pain and it does not make me sleepy. There’s a lot of info on the internet, but I found going in to reputable dispensary and talking to the staff about what I needed was very helpful. Educate yourself as much as you can first, then you can ask more relevant questions at the dispensary. Hope this helps. Good luck.
