Pyrocarbon Hemiarthroplasty

Posted by peachee80 @peachee80, Nov 16, 2021

I'm a 41yo female who had a pyrocarbon hemiarthroplasty a week ago after several shoulder ops and osteoarthritis. The pain was manageable for the first four days but since the swelling has started going down over the last few days my pain has increased a lot. I'm taking 200mg SR Tramadol twice a day, panadol osteo three times, naproxen 750mg and oxycontin liquid 5-7mg every 4-6hrs. Is this normal? I had the surgery in a public hospital so I don't have any contact with the surgeon or nurses

Hi Amanda, thanks for your reply. I was in at the hospital yesterday and I spoke to one of the ortho nurses. My pain isn't unusual. I've got a clinic apt next Tues for wound review. My GP is really good so I can see her if needed

Hi, I saw your post about your pyrocarbon hemi. I’m a 40 year old male considering making the leap to getting one. Is there any chance you would be open to discussing your experience with me?
