PVCs from reclast infusion?

Posted by leonberg @leonberg, May 16 8:17am

I soldiered through 10 months of Evenity with swelling and pain after each injection that lasted most of the time. I took a 5 month break and had an infusion of Reclast in March. I have noticed alot of PVCs and lightheadedness since that time. I had some before but there has defintely been an increase in them. Anyone else had this?

@leonberg these symptoms are listed side effects and also concern me since I already have paroxysmal afib.

Maybe you can ask for a 1 mg dose next time vs the usual 5mg. Did you hydrate and have a slow infusion?

I did. I am still being worked up for this issue and I suppose it could be something else but I suspect Reclast. I also had Lyme undiagnosed for awhile but the increase started after infusion.

@leonberg are you being treated for the Lyme? If undiagnosed for awhile you might need antibiotics longer than many MD's will prescribe, and a shot to start. It is hard to discern causes so often, and you have a few candidates which is hard! Maybe you can tackle one at a time.

Have you done a heart monitor?

I was treated for Lyme by a Lyme Literate doc but it took awhile! That was 3 years ago. I did the monitor and am awaiting results. My echo was done and showed alittle aortic valve leak which i understand is due to aging. Yuk! I have always been very active and athletic so it surprised me. I am 69 years old but trying to stay fit. Thankyou for responses.
