Psoriatic arthritis is abbreviated PsA in the medical literature. Enbrel and Humira are time tested disease
modifying biologic injectable antibodies.
They work to block a key protein called TNF which
is a trigger of systemic inflammation.
They work in conjunction with non drug measures for
symptoms and can prevent further joint deterioration.
Weight control, anti-inflammatory diet, exercise and sleep are important in reducing symptoms and disease progression.
Control of inflammation with disease modifying drugs
like TNF blockers may help lower our risk of cardiovascular events associated with psoriatic arthritis.
