PSA numbers after HOLEP?

Had the HOTEP procedure Nov 1, 2023. All fine, much better, good urine flow.. I have a follow up visit January 2024. Had the routine blood test , ...my PSA after being between 7-9 for the last 8 years is now recorded as .38? Is this correct? Should I have a recheck? ODD...

Hi cent66. I had BiPoLep... very similar to HOLEP... done in Jan 2022. Prior to the surgery my PSA tests were between 6.0 and 6.9. My prostate was 125cc prior to surgery, so quite enlarged. I had a PSA test done 3 months after the surgery and it was 0.32. I and my doctor were pleased with that result. I think you are fine, but of course you should ask your doctor at your follow up visit.

I had HOLEP surgery in June 2023. My prostate was 106 cc and they took out 72cc of tissue. Before the surgery my PSA was 13. After the surgery it went down to .32. So I wouldn’t be concerned about the huge drop.
