How long does it take to see the results of a PSA test usually?
My husband is having his first PSA test on Monday. Surgery was 7 weeks ago. Does anyone know how long it is to see results on the portal from Sloan Kettering Hospital

We go to UNC and it's usually within an hour. Blood work first then see Dr and by the time we see him the PSA results usually come in
I get mine the same day BUT one time did not. I think it was because the PA has to release the results through the patient portal. They didn't do this for a month. In my case, the lab also releases the results so I got them the same day but on their website not the doctor's..
@jeffmarc My mistake. It is <0.05

That’s good to hear. As long as it’s not rising at a steady rate, you’re in good shape. You could get PSA test every three months To keep track.

If your blood was drawn in a hospital blood collection station, and they do the test in-house (all hospital labs do that test in-house), you will have the result by the end of the day. Often what happens is that the result is released to your physician first before it posts to any patient portal where you see all of your health-related data. But you should your result no later than the next morning.
@northoftheborder I went to my hospital lab around 11 this morning. I received an email at 1 o'clock that the result is already on MyChart. My PSA is 0,16 after 10-1/2 months off ADT. I had my SBRT in April 2025, on Orgivyx starting before my radiation.
