Curious what psa readings after having SRT with 6 months Lupron???.
Anyone share some numbers please.

I had 39 treatments of radiation for my recurrence, to my prostate bed. My PSA 3 months after that was 0.01. I stayed that way for 2 years and it started climbing again. I’m now on my 2 nd recurrence. My PSA is at 0.63. My doctors are waiting for it to climb higher before they start me on hormone therapy.

Just a quick question, did you do the SRT on it's own without any ADT?

.and observation. If by hormone therapy you mean something like lupron or orgovyx (ADT) did they say why they wanted to wait? My docs started my ADT as soon as my climb was recognizable. (from .039 - .091). Or are you referring to some other kind of hormone therapy?

I'm on orgovyx which is a substitute for lupron. You take a pill every morning as opposed to the injection every so many months.

After my 39 treatments I only waited a month as I needed the psa number for a physical for work, I had gone from 0.091 - 0.014. I'm guessing my next test will be @march. (fingers crossed)

How long did it take for u to get to this current number.

I did have radiation treatments without hormone therapy. It was not suggested at the time. I was told to wait this time around because the doctors both said that the side effects of the treatment are worse that my cancer which is growing slow. I do not have any cancer pain at this time. Lupron would be their choice of treatment .

It took me 7 years to get to my current number. Both my doctors, urologist and oncologist, thought that 2.0 would be a good PSA to start treatment. But my oncologist has heard of people waiting until PSA of 10.0 before treatment, if their not having any issues.

Why are you not getting another scan to see if they can find the reoccurrence area? You can receive salvage radiation more than once.

Ok thanks I had SRT and 6 months Lupron starting in January of 2020. My last PSA. was 0.00.
Not sure what to expect next psa which is April 2023.
So far so good my urologist doesn’t start any ADT until number hits 10 or so.. FYI.
My initial treatment was in 2008.
