Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of proton beam therapy for CRC?

I had proton radiation for anal cancer.
Glad I chose it.

Yes, I did at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia. While I experienced all of the fatigue, intestinal spasms and really rough radiation burn in the last weeks, the end result and relatively contained damage have been excellent overall. My tumor achieved a complete response in my scans (which later proved to not hold up with a flex sig leading to surgery and chemo, but my tumor was effectively very much shrunken). And residual damage has been almost non-existent. No bladder damage, lasting GI stuff or any effect on sexual function which may be the benefit of the focused treatment area that proton radiation allows. Recommended if you can get it!

Thanks Grandpa. I’ve reached out to MDAnderson and their proton therapy division. I’ll send in a self-referral and then go from there.
My worry is that I’m only able to have one more set of radiation - and I don’t know where proton beam fits in there 🤞🤞🤞
