Well, part of the issue with prostate cancer, especially in the early stages, is that there really aren’t a lot of symptoms, if any. That’s why PSA testing is important.
Once it begins to advance, symptoms can mimic those of an enlarged prostate - frequent urination, weak stream, urgency issues, etc. That’s usually when a urologist will (hopefully) order an MRI followed by a biopsy, to confirm or eliminate cancer as a cause.
In my case, I had mild urination issues, but the thing that started the ball rolling was a PSA over 4 that eventually rose to over 9 in a little over four years. It took three sets of MRIs and biopsies to finally nab it.

Well for me there are no symptoms for now but I have aggressive PC and will start treatment in a couple of weeks. You need to get regular PSA tests and monitor changes. If it is rising, find a urologist. An enlarged prostate, especially if you have an infection, has more immediate symptoms.
Even people with very aggressive cancer that has spread a lot have absolutely no symptoms.
If you feel like you have a problem, it’s time to see a urologist. Some people have urinary issues and find out they have prostate cancer. Other people have pain that doesn’t stop no matter what they do.. Both of those could be signs of prostate cancer.
A close friend of mine was having urinary issues at age 65 went to a urologist checked his psa which was only 3, my friend insisted on a dre and the urologist found abnormalities after mri and biopsy Gleason 9 which have spread to lymph nodes thank goodness thats is far as it went, in some cases you can have a normal psa and have advanced cancer.
