Prescribed Bentyl for IBS. Age and BP a concern.
A few months I was prescribed Bentyl (Dicyclomine) for IBS. I did some reading and it said it can cause your blood pressure to drop, dizziness and lightheadedness. Also the elderly should use with caution. I'm 79 y/o and my B/P runs somewhat low already. Normal would be around 112/79. Have any of you had any history with this medication that fit my age and B/P situation? Thanks.

I am a 83 and have been taking Bentyl as needed for years without any problems. I was diagnosed with IBS-D forty years ago and sometimes when I have a flair the Bentyl really helps with the pain. My b/p runs a little high around 130 so I don't have the low b/p problem.
