Preparation for DEXA & Bone Marker tests.

Posted by drsuefowler @drsuefowler, Dec 12, 2023

I have a DEXA scan and bone marker tests scheduled for next week. Does anyone know how long I'm supposed to stop Collagen, Calcium and Vitamin B before the tests?

I did 25-48 hours without calcium. I forget which! Bone marker tests were done fasting, early morning (before 9) and at the same time every time.

I recently did this …so these are McCormick’s must do’s
48 hrs of NO Calcium , NO Collagen . No Boitin -make sure to check other supplements that these might be included in !!!!
Fasting , no food after 8pm.
Go for blood testing as early as you can but definately before 9am . And if you do these tests again go at the same time in the morning each time you go so they are comparable!!!!
Good luck to you!!!
