PPI's peripheral neuropathy b12 alcohol

I have been prescribed omeprazole for the last 14 years initially for acid reflux. It was like a wonder cure because I was a heavy drunker. I was only meant to take 1 x 20mg capsule daily. However on some days or nights especially after alcohol I would take several up to 4 at a time! I've done this for years assuming they were harmless.
Around 2 years ago i started to experience some discomfort in my feet, numbness, Tingling, pain, that because constant even moving to my hands and head. I was getting frightening because my memory was becoming poor. Tinnitus, vision weakness. Etc
It turns out i was b12 deficient and experiencing neurological symptoms and my GP agreed to b12 injections. I have had loading doses and was on maintenance doses 1x 12 weeks. It's been just over 9 weeks and I wasn't feeling good so now the GP has agreed to 1 x 8 weekly for 6 months. I'm 3 weeks Sober and will stay that way. I'm just after some hope and encouragement.
