Post prostate cancer Radiation therapy
Under went Radiation therapy for prostate cancer7 months , during Radiation there was mild pain in the anus but subsided then after 4 to 5 month, pain in the anus with blood drops and mucus after motion, especially when straining. Pain is severe, been using diclofenac, Tylenol tablet with doxiproct and Lidocaine ointment and mesalamine suppository to manage the pain but never subsided.
Dose budesonide rectal foam help in treating it.
Is there a time frame for when the pain start to reduce and stop, I hear 1 year for the maximum effect then subside. Is there a way to treat it or manage it?

I don’t think you’re gonna find an easy answer to this. Your symptoms are not common. Frequently when somebody has problems like this, they get involved with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Which in some cases can resolve the problem.
Time to speak to your doctor about this.

No easy answer in life ;).
Any idea will help.
Definitely will discuss Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with my doctor.
@mhballa
You have radiation induced proctitis, I am so sorry that you have to endure this. About 5 % of RT patients develop it and it can be managed different ways. I do not know if you noticed that there is "search' function available just above thread column - just search "proctitis" or rectal bleeding and you will find many threads and discussions. If you have trouble finding it, let us know .

Sorry about what’s going on. No fun at all. As I understand it, some doctors provide anti-inflammatory medication’s.
Did you have any rectal spacers for Radiation?
I had bleeding to the point my wife said it was like period blood. Rank gas and 6-8 bowel movements before noon right after I ate. Dealt with it for 15 months after radiation and it was progressive. After unknowingly bleeding through blue jeans and into a chair cushion at 12 months, I saw a GI. Diagnosed with Radiation Proctitis and Bowel Enteritis. Sigmoidoscopy and cauterization stopped the bleeding, and Mesalamine enemas for 90 days treated the Enteritis. Radiation destroys both good and bad tissue and somewhat has to run its course but is treatable.
