Positive Dyphotopsia lense replacement dilemma
I had cataract surgery July 2024. Basic johnson and johnson lense that medicare paid for. Immediately had blurred vision. Halo's streaming from any lights or around the moon. Never had to wear glasses for distance or driving. Only a 1.25 for reading. Now need bifocals for distance and near. Cannot enjoy walking outside. Depth perception with glasses is not good no matter which glasses I try. Which has been everything from these bifocals to progressives. Now outside glare from everything makes it hard for distance. Saw Lasik surgeon due to my cataract Dr referring me to them immediately. They said they wouldnt touch my eye for 3 months at least. Glad I waited and did more research. No Lasik. Watch "Broken Eyes". Now Dr claims it is not a worsened astigmatism as first thought. Dr referred me to a specialist in lense replacement. I talk to this new surgeon in Nov 2025. . I do not know what to trust or believe about which lense replacement is the best for my condition. LAL or monofocal? I am 15 months out from original cataract surgery. Did not need YAG. Cataract Dr warned me today. The success rate for lense replacement is 75% positive and 25% negative or worse than my vision is now.
