polycythemia Vera

Can any tell me if sore finger tips plus elevated hgb, hct, hx DVT, severe itching, with a warm shower would need a workup for polycythemia vera.

I agree with irishnanny3 but wonder why you’re asking? You’ve obviously had the blood work done. Were you also tested for JAK2?
Assuming a doctor ordered the blood work are you doubtful of the diagnosis? If you are, please find a medical provider you trust. My MD of over 45 years ordered my usual blood work (thyroid) and saw the elevated hematocrit and immediately sent me for JAK 2 test and when he saw that was positive immediately sent me to hematologist.
I’ve always found that not knowing something like this is worse (and scarier) than knowing. Facts and knowledge let you assess the options and how you want to deal with it.
