Polycystic kidney cysts ablation

Has anyone had this procedure done? I saw where the Urology Department at the University of Florida does the procedure; however, I don't think my nephrologist would approve. I have been in contact with UF. They told me to have my primary care send a referral. I just need to know if this would work and if the side effects are worse than the procedure. Thanks for your input!

@susangail53 Why do you think your nephrologist would not approve the procedure?

Here are a couple of links with more information:

He wouldn't approve it because I'm not in any pain, as of yet. I am just curious about the procedure and benefits, if any. I appreciate the info!
