Effective tomorrow, the hospital system where I see MDs and receive chemo is implementing visitor restrictions and stricter mask protocols due to a surge in respiratory illnesses. I know that there is controversy surrounding some preventive steps, so I won't go there. But I will say to you, my virtual pancan friends, please stay safe out there!...

Masking serves to protect those in our communities that are vulnerable. That likely includes many of those reading these comments who are receiving chemotherapy. Following the advice of the medical consensus shouldn’t be controversial. Don’t be cowed in to taking undue risks! Your life is more important than someone’s else’s political opinions.
