I have bladder cancer. What next?
Mr Nelson Jr. I recently was released from OSHU, I discovered one day that something was growing around my stomach area. For months I suffered from intense pain, to severe pain off the charts. This was happening while I was working, I never really complain to my boss I would just bare the pain my boss always had some feeling that something was wrong with me! He would pull me aside and asked me if I was OK. Finally I said something about it. My boss said you need to go to the emergency room. I said OK I will. Folks I never went, until 1 month later. CT scan said I had really great results on everything lunges liver, kidneys. Blood work came back good nothing wrong!! I said doc I'm healthy as a ox,however you have a 2.5 cm in your bladder. Well what do it mean? Doc said straight forward. You have cancer 😐. I asked him straight forward what is it and how long can I live. That all I wanted to hear nothing else. Doc, could be a year or 5 year max said it was growing..

My name is Pete. I have prostate cancer. My surgery is Jan 21 2025. I went thru the scope procured and found cancer. I for while had back pain and groin pain. This led me to have the scope done. I'm married and I'm 63 years old.
Best of luck with surgery and treatment! Stay strong and lean on family and friends when you need them.
Thank-you very much
@mystorey, John, that must've been a shock to hear that you have bladder cancer. What treatment did your doctor recommend? How are you doing?
@bostonbruins, do you have both bladder and prostate cancer? What is your treatment plan?

Pete,
Good luck with your surgery. What is your treatment plan? I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in Jan '22 and had surgery to remove the bladder and prostate in July '22. I have recovered fully and am in remission, so it can be conquered as much as cancer can be. The most important thing to me is a positive attitude and strong support group Look into the Bladder Cancer Awareness Network (BCAN) they have an excellent website with all kinds of links to help you through this as does Mayo. I've also been helped immensely by the various support groups. Many meet remotely. Good luck and stay in touch.
Hi there your doing well excellent. It's feels like a lump of coal inside me lol. I have alot of family support and my wife has been great. I found before I was told that my groin area as sore and sore back. They did the camera procedure and had the cancer in my prostate. My mom side of the family has prostate cancer. I'm very positive about my cancer. I can beat it. You take care .
