PHESGO 600 (for how long)
I was diagnosed in April 2024 with HER2-positive, ER/PR-negative breast cancer. I received 8 cycles of TCHP chemotherapy, followed by breast-conserving surgery & radiotherapy. Thankfully, the surgery showed a complete pathological response, with no cancer found in the breast tissue or the five lymph nodes examined.
I am currently receiving PHESGO 600 mg every 21 days, and my doctor has discussed continuing it for a longer period.
Is anyone here using PHESGO 600 mg long-term or indefinitely? How long have you been receiving it, why did your doctor recommend continuing it, and what regular tests do you need, such as heart scans, blood tests, or imaging?

Hey,
I can completely understand your anxiety. First of all, congratulations on being cancer-free! I sincerely pray that you remain healthy and that your post-surgery response stays cancer-free forever.
I was diagnosed in 2020 with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and have been on treatment since then. Initially, I received Taxotere, Perjeta, and Herceptin for six months. After that, I continued on Perjeta and Herceptin as maintenance therapy, which was expected to continue for life.
In 2023, Perjeta and Herceptin were combined into a single injection called Phesgo, so I switched to that treatment. I was also declared cancer-free in 2023. Since then, my follow-up has consisted of annual whole-body CT scans and mammograms.
My oncologist believes that newer data suggests routine echocardiograms are no longer necessary, but I still choose to have one every year for my own peace of mind.
Then, in April of this year, my oncologist suggested stopping treatment altogether. He explained that there is no clear data indicating how long patients should remain on these drugs, and by that point I had been taking them for more than six years. I can't tell you how happy and relieved I felt hearing that.
That said, he still wants to see me every two months, and I have blood work done every two months as well. He also orders the Natera test every six months. Thankfully, my Natera results have been negative since 2023.
Wishing you all the best on your journey. Try not to let the anxiety overwhelm you—take it one step at a time and focus on enjoying your cancer-free status. I'm rooting for you!

I’m so happy to hear that you have been cancer-free since 2023 and that your Natera results continue to be negative. After everything you have been through, you absolutely deserve this wonderful news and the relief of being able to stop treatment.
Your journey is incredibly inspiring, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience with Perjeta, Herceptin, and Phesgo. Hearing from someone who has been on this path for several years makes me feel less alone and much more hopeful about the future.
