Phantom sensations in mouth
Last month on and off i’ve been having weird phantom sensations. Sometimes there feels like there’s pieces of food on my tongue I wanna scrape off, almost like I ate walnuts and there’s tiny pieces on it, I have to scrape my tongue. I also have this weird bitter metallic taste that comes and goes. Sometimes the tip of my tongue feels sore too like I rubbed it on sandpaper. Goes away when I talk, eat, or breathe throughout my mouth. When I bite down on the area or move my tongue it goes away too. Started a month ago when I got off zoloft cold turkey. Weird anxiety symptom and withdrawal from zoloft? The sensations move throughout the day as well, get worse when I focus on it.

Why did you go off Zoloft and why cold turkey? What was the urgent need? Does any of this info below fit you?
Stopping Zoloft (sertraline) cold turkey causes antidepressant discontinuation syndrome, which brings intense physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms like dizziness, nausea, and electric shock-like sensations in the head.Physical Side EffectsDizziness: A spinning or lightheaded feeling that makes walking hard.Brain zaps: Brief feelings that resemble mild electric shocks inside the head.Flu-like feelings: Fatigue, muscle aches, chills, and heavy sweating without a real infection.Digestive upset: Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.Headaches: Throbbing head pain that can range from mild to severe.Emotional and Mental Side EffectsAnxiety and panic: Sudden or severe spikes in nervous feelings and panic attacks.Rebound depression: A rapid return or worsening of sad, hopeless moods.Irritability: Quick anger, agitation, and a low tolerance for stress.Sleep issues: Insomnia or very vivid, disturbing nightmares. Most users on Reddit agree that these withdrawal effects hit hard within a few days of stopping the medication. In rare cases, abrupt stopping can trigger severe risks like seizures or suicidal thoughts.

You're quite right that quitting an SSRI drug like Zoloft abruptly (cold turkey) is not recommended. Tapering over time is the recommended approach.
@kayliejamieson777, have you talked to your prescribing doctor about these phantom sensations?
