Permanent dent in front upper thigh

Posted by haileycavaness @haileycavaness, Oct 12, 2023

So in april i was running up some metal bleachers and one of them was wet and i lost my footing and fell my entire body weight onto my upper thigh directly onto the edge of the bleacher. It hurt sooo bad and immediately after it swelled up and was painful to the touch. It was also SO hot compared to the rest of my skin. Over the next several weeks the swelling slowly went down and the bruising started. It took probably a month for the bruising to go away but now i have a permanent dent where i hit it. i wasn’t too worried about it i just thought it was funny and showed it off sometimes but now, 6 months later the pain it returning and there’s a small lump right in the middle of my dent. should i be worried? ps. the photos below are one right after the incident while it was still swollen and the second it about a week after the incident when the bruising happened.

WOW! I can't imagine how much that hurt. Sounds like you received quite a blunt force trauma to that leg. I would definitely go to a doctor for an exam and xrays. I have no answers....but I do have prayers for you. Blessings & Hugs....

Hi, @haileycavaness. About a week has past since you posted about this new development. How are you doing now? Is the small lump in the middle of your "dent" still present and have you gone in to have it checked out? Without imaging, it may be difficult to identify what the issue is. When it comes to impact injuries, it could be many things like a bone bruise, bone fracture, or a simple contusion. Some are more serious than others, but may need a medical provider to appropriately diagnose the issue.

You mentioned the dent has been persistent and now the pain is back as well as well as the new lump. These could be signs of ongoing injury. Have you considered getting images done now that the pain and swelling have come back?
