Periprosthetic tibial lesion 3 years post tkr
3 years 4 months post right tkr.
Since April 2025 had multiple visits to orthopedist with complaints of pain upper mostly medial tibia. Some pain near Hoffa pat pad. He diagnosed pes anserine bursitis. Tried meloxicam and PT. Then in May and June I was given 2 prp injections in bursa. No relief gained. In October he ordered MRI.
Diagnosed with periprosthetic neoplasm. Currently under care of orthopedist oncologist.
First open surgical biopsy in November was inconclusive.
Just had more extensive 2nd surgical biopsy on Jan 7.
Despite small clusters of atypical cells and necrosis no conclusive findings on first biopsy but stated concerning for aggressive neoplasm.
PET scan only active in are of right knee.
Now I have high anxiety waiting results. 11 days post 2ndv biopsy and knee is swollen and painful still.
I feel orthopedist oncologist us preparing me for a lymphoma or sarcoma diagnosis. Has anyone gone through this horrible experience.
