I have read, that NB is a good shoe for neuropathy. I have had pain and numbness since 2012, and am 75, I don’t walk much, I have balance issue. I don’t like the feel of a tennis shoe, too tight for me, but I have read that these ( NewBalance) have great support and cushioning.

I must have bought 30 pairs of shoes after a revision procedure went wrong two years ago that gave rise to peripheral neuropathy and CRPS. None felt comfortable walking with inflamed metatarsals and numb toes.

Used to walk for miles, now limp around the supermarket. Feel very bitter since this never should have happened, but I didn't have enough 'proof' for medical malpractice suit. This WAS elective surgery after all - MY decision, and MY ruinous outcome.
Is the only recourse pain pills or a spinal cord stimulator implant?

Thanks for the tip. I live in a very warm climate too. I used to wear Keds all the time. I will check out the Morrisons. Sometimes you just need a good tennis shoe!

Not sure what surgery you had, but I'm sorry & know how you feel. I had vein ablation a year ago that made my neuropathy so much worse. Of course, I was told that increased circulation would be so great, but instead they banged into nerves during the procedure. Now I have numbness & swelling that I never had before, added to the pain. "Used to walk for miles, now limp around the supermarket" sums it up for me too (as well as the bitterness). This shoe is not bad: Naturalizer Macayla Pelican Grey Sneakers. You can have a look on Ebay. I just bought another pair this morning. They have a zipper on the side, so if they start feeling tight, you can just unzip them. Not a long haul walking shoe, but who can do that anymore, right?

Good morning 2 U all. It's nice to hear from others who are going through the same issues that I am going through. I felt so alone and thought that I was losing my mind. No help from my PCP either known her over 35+ yrs. She I would think know me like her favorite book. I really don't like talking to her about my struggles because I don't want her or anyone thinking I am one of those people who complained all the time.

The NB I have read about are the 990,2002, and the 1500 models. I hope you have good luck with them. I don’t personally wear tennis shoes. They seem to aggravate my neuropathy. I was told that SAS were good also, so I bought a pair of flats for summer, and am very happy with them, although I did have to ‘break’ them in because of my bunions.

I feel that way too - In a fairly new marriage and try not to say too much - He does go with me to doctors and realizes what I am going through; but, I'm sure he is thinking life isn't as wonderful as he thought it would be!!
