I just listened to. Webinar from this organization on PN prevention and learned a great deal about my illness of many years. This webinar and others are available for free on their web site http://www.foundationforpn.org. For both chronic and new sufferers I encourage you to learn and there is much resource information available too.

Please let us know. It may help some of us. I take an oral tablet of 2500mcg that dissolves under my tongue, but maybe I need more than that. Hope it works for you!😊

@jchet

Have you had the B12 injections, and have they helped?

Started daily injections 4 months ago after bloodwork at a hematologist. Anxiety, mood swings, air hunger, panic attacks, and some pains are gone. But I’ve learned it can take years before the fatigue, movement difficulty and neuropathy remit. I’m hopeful and will continue the jabs for the rest of my life. b12 and cofactors are the only treatment.

I am also new to Peripheral Neuropathy and my family physician has not been helpful so I've had to navigate and figure this out on my own. I'm lucky to have found a physio who is very unique and helps me to experience muscle relief. I had a rant of frustration that I let loose on Facebook which prompted lots of words of encouragement from friends but also a number of suggestions. As a result I have downloaded two Apps which I am using daily. They are: Curable and Bearable. Check them out. I have lost so much muscle tone but have just started seated exercises as my upper limbs are OK...well mild neuropathy. This is really tough. Much of my social life revolves around active activities...so a big loss at that end as well.

Hello @artemis1886, Thank you for the private message. I hope you don't mind but I thought I would respond to you in this discussion on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy to give others a chance to add their thoughts.

You asked "On the website for the Foundation of Peripheral Neuropathy why do they not list autoimmune? " - Actually they do have quite a bit of information on autoimmune disease - https://www.foundationforpn.org/causes/autoimmune-disease/.

You also asked if autoimmune considered rare. My personal opinion/view of autoimmune disease is that it is a group of conditions much like neuropathy is a term used that includes many different types of nerve related conditions. The NIH has a page on Autoimmune Diseases that does a good job of explaining what it is along with references to other related sources - https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/conditions/autoimmune.

Hoping this will give you some help trying to understand the conditions more. It helps me a lot to read the sources as they relate to what I'm feeling or trying to figure out what may cause/help symptoms with my own health. I'm happy to see that you are trying to learn more about your conditions and what may help.
