Does anyone have experience with this procedure?

are you asking about TULSA-PRO? Is there another ablation treatment?

I think that Tulsa Pro uses ultrasound. The one that I was researching uses laser.

I have a PIRADs 4 score so I'm not sure if I would be a candidate for either, waiting on the biopsy. I am trying to find alternatives to traditional surgery or radiation to minimize side effects.

I have already scheduled a second opinion with Johns Hopkins who offers the laser ablation technique. I'm looking for feedback from men who have either procedure.

@keithl56 Other ablation / focal therapies are nanoknife (dc electric ablation) and cyro (partial or full prostate). When I investigated laser had the smallest max lesion size, then nanoknife. Cyro and Tulsa Pro can be partial or full prostate ablation but need to check how well these do at the margins.

Thanks. My lesion is (was) only 7mm so I may have more options.

Sloan Kettering has a page up "About Your Prostate Ablation Procedure" https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/patient-education/about-prostate-ablation-procedure

I've not heard this term before. Sloan Kettering appears to be describing various focal therapies.

I reviewed that site as well. These techniques are relatively new and really don't have many studies on them yet. From what I have read the benefit is fewer side effects but recurrence rates seem higher.
