PDA treatment suggestion
A 22 months old child with 2.4-3 mm PDA (patent ductus arteriosus). What is the suggestion for treatment? Should we implement the catheter or should we just watch closely for now instead?

Hi @neminchen. I am so sorry you have the need to find out more about paten ductus arteriosus (PDA). I am glad you found Connect, hopeful you will be able to share experiences with others.
You may have found Mayo Clinic’s overview of PDA, but if you have not I will provide the link. It includes a page addressing treatments you may find helpful as you wait for others to comment: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/patent-ductus-arteriosus/symptoms-causes/syc-20376145
Is the child having symptoms? How are you doing?
It’s likely the doctors have told you to wait to see if it closes on its own in a 22m.o. child. At such a young age the catheter approach with a plug makes the most sense. They would not want to open the chest of a child unless absolutely necessary. The MAYO site offers some good information too.
