Pancreatic enzymes

Posted by rosep55 @rosep55, 1 day ago

I had the Whipple procedure almost 3 years ago. I had no cancer. I read people who had this surgery should take creon or similar but they're very expensive.
VITAL supplements sells a supplement for pancreatic enzymes. Should I try it?

Hi @rosep55 - I had a complete pancreatectomy about 6 years ago. I have been taking Creon ever since. I would typically hit my deductible in January on my first refill. Last year, I found the Creon Support Program where AbbVie helps with the cost - https://patientsupport.creoninfo.com/cost-savings. I pay $5 for a 30 day supply so definitely worth checking into it. Take care!

Hi Matt
Thanks for the info. On my drug plan I'd have to pay $400 a month for creon.
That's why I was looking into supplements.
Thanks for making things easier for me.
