Pain in the area of my Achilles tendons
I've had idiopathic foot neuropathy for about 15 years. This year (2025), i have had two new issues. In Jan/Feb I had some significant pain (up to level 8) in the toes and ball of the feet. It resolved in about 5 weeks. Last month, I have had some level 3-4 pain in the area of my Achilles tendons on both feet. This was accompanied by some swelling and tenderness on my right foot in the same area. Are these typical developments of this disease? What do you do to resolve these issues.

Hi @allessio77, I've had idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy since my mid forties and I'm 82 now. I only have the numbness and some tingling that started in my toes but is now a little above my ankles. I've had other pain issues in my feet which I'm pretty sure aren't related to my neuropathy diagnosis. Swelling in my ankles, feet and legs which which turned out to be lymphedema which is treated by wearing compression socks. I've also had gout in my right foot a couple of times that was really painful and treated with Colchicine. Have you seen a doctor for the two new issues?
