pain in ribs/shoulders, exersise intolerance, any ideas?
I've been experiencing this set of symptoms for over 3 years and looking for any sort of ideas.
As an overview, I experience moderate to severe rib pain along with shoulder pain and shooting/ burning pain down my arms. When attempting to manage this as a college athlete, I often had practices where I did very short bursts of intense activity and couldn't continue due to the intense muscle pain. For the hours following, I found it difficult to walk as if my feet and legs were not underneath me, along with muscle cramps... i often fell down stairs or tripped on my own feet or a crack in the sidewalk. It is an odd set of not super-specific symptoms, and I understand that, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Obviously, I try to ignore it and just live my life as best I can, but I can only do that to a point.
I was accepted to Mayo Clinic, and that was kind of my last resort for trying to work with doctors. I was told everyone experiences this and it is normal, that I should just eat before I exercise, and go to class and move on with my life, her exact words, although I am aware it seems like I'm exaggerating.
I'm open to any ideas from anyone who might be experiencing anything similar, even if it's something like yoga or a diet of some sort, i just don't want to give up

winston137, I wonder if you have exercise induced muscle damage. https://barcainnovationhub.fcbarcelona.com/blog/what-is-exercise-induced-muscle-damage/

Because you mention yoga, I assume you are familiar with concentric and eccentric exercise.

I imagine that you look to be in great shape which probably misled that doctor. I hope you don't give up on doctors, though. They usually show us the way out of our physical dilemmas.
I don't think you are exaggerating.
Have you seen a rheumatologist?
