Pain duration after kidney stone treatment?

Yesterday I had my urinary stent exchange, which I have every 3 months to keep my ureter from right kidney open to my bladder. The urologist found a kidney stone and broke it up. My question is: how long does the post-procedure pain last? Kidney stones are painful enough, but I’m still in excruciating pain. I’d like to know what to expect and maybe some ideas on how to support healing at this point. Thank you so much.

hi, sorry you are suffering, It can take several weeks for stone fragments to pass once it is broken. I wonder if having the stent would make it faster.

Thank you! Up until the stent exchange, the pain was chronic. Now it is only upon urination and less painful. So I’m already feeling progress in the right direction. I hope to get more answers from the urologist on Monday.
