Pain control using a heating pad

Posted by monkey5333 @monkey5333, Feb 6, 2023

I would like to know if it’s safe to use a hearing pad to relieve back pain due to a NET in the small intestine. I am in agony and thought maybe heat would help

Hello @monkey5333

Heating pads are often used for pain. Your question about it being safe can best be answered by your doctor. Can you send the doctor a message through the patient portal or by phone and ask about this?

Will you let me know the answer?

I don’t know if I can connect to him through the patient portal or not but if I can I will let you know for sure. Where do I find the patient portal?

Most hospital systems have a patient portal. I suggest that you contact your doctor's office to see the process to get enrolled. I find it a really great way to touch base with my doctors for refills, questions about any problems I'm having, etc.

I'm sure you will like it as well. It is more convenient than trying to go through phone calls and talking with multiple people who may not understand what you are going through.

Will you let me know how that works for you?

Hello @monkey5333

As it has been a while since you last posted, I was thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. Any results yet from the procedures or any relief from the pain?

Will you will post an update when you able?
