Pain in old gallbladder surgery site
I had my gall bladder out 40 years ago, the old major abdominal surgery way, with an 8 inch scar and a 1 week hospital stay. I have had no problems for 40 years, but now, right along the scar line, I get occasional sharp pains, almost stabbing. It feels like it is right under the skin line. Could it be that the internal staples are shifting after all these years?

I cannot believe Im finding this site and people with my “same Gall Bladder removal (“1977”) issues!” I’ve been experiencing pain discomfort, at the old scar site. weight gain, & insulin resistance. I thought it all might have something to do with “Gall Bladder removal?” Of 49 yrs ago???? I mentioned this yesterday at a “Baffled Nutritionist” appt. She said “ ask your PCP”. SO where do I go from here? What doctor can help me with this problem that is long over due? Thank you kindly for replies! CathyMC. PS. Also… there may be Scar Tissue built over the years with weight gain… causing a “lump to protrude” when I bend down to put shoes or boots on.
