Pain and burning in glutes and lower back
Hi, I have pain in my glutes from last 8 months. My glutes burn and painful when I sit. And after sometime it used to get very sore. soreness is there throughout the day. And then the burning pain settles after rest, Right now, this is 8-9 months, I am not able to sit continuously more than 15-20 minutes. The glutes keeps burning and from last 1 and a half month, my lower back too started paining. I feel burn and pain there in lower back. MRI says that mild disc bulge at L4, L5 and S1. And in the pelvic, there is no issue. Sacroiliac joint, no issues. Just that is mild disc bulge. And I have shown to too many doctors, but the issue is not solved and they are not giving proper diagnostic except PT which is not helping me. The pain is in the lower back, glutes and behind the hamstring, behind the thighs, posterior hamstring area. Below the greater trochanter till the knee. The hamstring is not tight, but it burns when I sit, when I put weight on it. So, this is the posterior hamstring part. Any solution, any diagnosis or something can help me, please assist.
Thanks

Did you get MRIs of your left and right hip to check for soft tissue damage beyond the disc bulges in your spine? Did the orthopedic spine specialist recommend spinal injections?
You may benefit from seeing an orthopedic pain management specialist to learn more about treatment options. It may also be good to see a neurologist for EMG/nerve conduction studies of your lower limbs to check for radiculopathy/peripheral neuropathy.
Was this the result of an injury or did it just show up? My similar glute/ lower back pain was the result of a ski accident. Eventually a neurologist prescribed a cocktail of meds that cut my pain from a 7 down to about a 2.
I have had the same for several years. It is at least in part due to sacral Tarlov Cysts. I also have a soft tissue damage to my gluteus medius which has been er been addressed. I had tatlov cyst surgery and now get help from the combo of meds and PT and learning mindfulness techniques
I’ve had pain in my lower back for a while now. Thought it was SI joint. After seeing a pain management doctor, an MRI was performed. It shows a little arthritis and he believes that it may be pinching a nerve to my lower back. Had pain medication injection by the nerve root and the pain went away for 5 days. It was great to have my pain completely gone. My insurance wants me to do the same thing one more time just to make sure that the nerve pain goes away. The next step is to have an ablation of the nerve. Doctors say that should last 6 months or more. It depends on fast the nerve regenerates. It was great to have no pain
I have the same pain, two years now. Epidurals did not work, nor is ablation working. The pain started with a diagnosis of PMR. Prednisone took care of it, but I had to taper off due to high blood pressure. I’m fine while sitting with my legs raised, but I can’t stay like that all day! I’m not sure it will ever go away.
How did they diagnosed tissue damage in glutes medius my mri says muscles are normal but my glute medius is painful when i sit and it is bilateral
No injuries might be due to my sitting position in office sitting on cahir and keeping my legs extended on a table for 7-8 hours daily for eight months due to my knee pain. Which medicines helped you please share will discuss with my doctor
MRI of hips is normal also Nurve condition study is normal. I took steroid injection in si joint but no help. However injection in nurves near ankle helped a little with glute burning pain.
Tramadol, Gabapentin, and diazepam. I felt really dizzy for a few days but then things eventually.
@hatman it feels great being pain free after almost 2 years in pain from a failed back surgery L4-S1 I had a spine stimulator put in January 17 and was 95% pain free for 4 days until I bent to far and moved the leads, now I’m struggling to get by until next Monday the 31st to get paddles placed instead
