Overnight guest in ICU rooms
Hello, my dad is having quad bypass surgery on Thursday at the Phoenix location and I was wondering if visitors are allowed to stay overnight in the ICU room with him? My mom wants to be near him after his surgery. We suggested the hotel on campus, but she wants to be with him. I am unable to contact his care team, which I know is probably the best option, as I am not in state with them, but am trying to figure it out for my mom so she has one less thing to stress about. Any help would be appreciated!

Can not answer question directly, but I would advise your mom to get hotel room. An ICU room has lot equipment, when my dad was in a ICU room at Mayo Rochester, there was very little room for chair and definitely not a bed. Nurses will be monitoring, in and out of room, so you mom will get little or no rest. The final say maybe the nurse supervisor, they are responsible for care of patient.
I would have a hotel room reservation so it is have available. She will be just a phone call away.
You can try contacting contacting Concierge Services and see if they can answer question or provide you a contact at hospital to answer your question.

@nkbrierley I have been in ICU overnight (at a different hospital) and I couldn’t have anyone stay with me.
The ICU actually had visiting hours and limited the number of visitors I could have in my room.
It also was small and only had one chair and the toilet is just in the room - there is no actual bathroom. But I was on bed rest so I couldn’t get up anyway. Hope that helps!

I am sure you have had busy few days with your dad having surgery, wanted to check-in and see how it went. Hope everything went smoothly.
