Ocreves Zunovo for Relapsing Remitting MS
This is my second post on this topic but with a different medication. Our son, who is 34 was diagnosed with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis 6 years ago. His first symptom was temporary loss of sight in his left eye. The MRI showed two lesions on his brain. He is not symptomatic. He has been taking Tecfidera 2x day. No additional lesions until last month. A small lesion appeared on top of his brain. His specialist at U of P said it is in an area that will not affect his motor skills etc. but wants to place him on a subcutaneous injections of Ocreves Zunovo. I mistakenly posted Briumvi. The injections are 2x year. Does anyone have experience with Ocreves Zunovo including any side effects and results. I have done my research on this medication but would appreciate any personal experience. My son has not started this medication yet.
Respectfully,
Barry

I don’t have a personal experience with the injections. I am a registered infusion nurse and we administer IV Ocrevus to MS patients.
From what my patients have told me, the mediation has helped with slowing the progression of the disease. We do administer pre meds to reduce the risk of any transfusion reactions during the infusion and it is normally a titratable medication. We very rarely have any transfusion reactions but not to say we haven’t. The one I recall was very mild, some itching in the scalp. We have a protocol of infusion rate and medications to administer if this does happen. This is not medical advice but just my experience as an infusion nurse. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your reply and very appreciated. There are a number of new medications out there and we are trusting my son's specialist to choose the one that best suits his condition. That said, any information I can gather from patients about their personal experience or professionals like yourself is a Godsend. We know four other adults with RRMS that take oral medications. I pray every day for a root cause and cure. Thank you for your service to the community.
Best Regards,
Barry
