Numbness left side 10 years post TN surgery
I had successful TN surgery 10 years ago with no flareups.
I now have bothersome numbness on whole left side of face.
I checked in with the surgeon. He says theres nothing that can be done, aside from TN medications and I really don’t want to do those debilitating medications.
Does anyone have this problem? And if so, do you have any tips on things that i can try?
Lotions, cremes, physical therapy, etc?
My face does not hurt - just feels numb and squished.
Thank you

Hi, sorry this has gone on for a long time. Can see how you'd be not for more meds. Especially as it's not very known how they might affect you. Has it lessened to any degree in the 10 years at all?
I had some experience like what you described.
Mine took several years to dial down. It was also very sensitive to cold. Would cause pain. Wonder if
red light therapy might help? I get how weird it feels. Hang in there. ♡* ♡* ♡
It's actually gotten worse over the past 6-8 months.
There has always been some numbness but not like now. It doesn't hurt, really, maybe some achiness if it's cold.
Just bothersome

Thx for that, oh ok, i thought it was 10yrs being super numb.
Had anything else happened that might have triggered it?
What is the surgery you had? I didn't clue with the 2 lettered term. Have you ever tried any red light therapies?
Accupuncture or laser wave therapy? Keep trying stuff. Ttyl
I had trigeminal neuralgia surgery.
I haven't really tried anything except for massaging and heat.
The surgeon said the nerve in my face is probably being bothered by a blood vessel which is causing the numbness.
The numbness has been slow brewing. It's gotten bad over the last 6-8 months.
By the way - my cats name is Maybelene:)
